Q

When does CoS = GFR?

A
  1. When it is freely filtered in the glomerulus
  2. When it is not secreted or reabsorbed
  3. When it isn’t metabolised by the body

Q

Explain the production and effect of EPO.

A
  1. Hypoxia is detected in the JGA of the kidneys.
  2. JGA secrete erythropoeitin.
  3. EPO stimulates erythropoeisis in red bone marrow.
  4. Erythropoeisis increases RBC count.
  5. Blood O2 level returns to normal and EPO production decreases.
