What are the social measures of measuring globalisation?

A

HDI - United Nations composite measure; includes economic and social factors (GNI, life expectancy/years of schooling). The UNDP also report on other aspects of development.
-GII - gender inequality index - United Nations composite measure; examines the disparity between men and women by considering maternal mortality rates, females in education and parliament and participation in the workforce.

What are the economic measures of measuring globalisation?

A

GDP per capita - world bank measure; divides the wealth created within a country by the population size.
GNI (gross national income) per capita - one of the world banks world development indicators; takes the wealth created by a country and its expenditures and divides this by the population size of the country. The amount is often modified by PPP, which reflects the different costs of living between countries.
Economic sector balance - as a country develops there will be an increase in secondary industries and then tertiary industry.

What are the environmental measures of measuring globalisation?

A

Global urban ambient air pollution - world health organisation measure; compares pollution levels in 3000 cities with health limits, recognising links between air pollution and health risks.
Ecological footprint - global footprint network measure; compares annual use of biospheres resources and services with reserves to calculate the amount of ecological deficit.
