-Low agricultural potential due to harsh climate/poor soil creates difficult living, so survival is the priority.
-Lack of resources for energy/raw materials, so they cannot develop.
What political factors decrease globalisation?
-Corrupt government/administration or disruption by crime.
-National government not committed to free market or making links with other countries.
-Civil/tribal conflicts within countries create divisions and an inward looking government.
-Inability to join trade blocs due to ethos differences/disadvantaged by world trade rules.
What economic factors decrease globalisation?
-High level of government debt reduces subsidies and spending on transport/communications.
-Low education levels reduce worker skills and the ability to communicate with other countries.
-Poverty reduces the ability of people and the country to invest in transport/telecommunications.
-Dependence 1 or few resources/industries creates disadvantages and exclusions.
