Adjectives that make a comparison and often end in -er e.g. faster, more clever
Superlative adjectives
Express the highest degree of something often ending in -est e.g. biggest, most beautiful
Evaluate adjective
Offers a judgement on the noun being described e.g. the cake tasted AWFUL
Attributive adjective
Known as pre-modifying adjectives that come before the noun e.g. It was the only AVAILABLE room
Predictive adjective
Known as a post modifying adjective that comes after the noun e.g. Is this room AVAILABLE?
Post-positive adjective
An adjective that comes immediately after the noun e.g. is this room AVAILABLE?
Adverbs of time
Tells about the timing that something happened or frequency e.g. I’m going to school TOMORROW
Adverbs of manner
Describe the way in which something is done e.g. I spoke QUIETLY
Adverbs of place
Describes where something happened e.g. Come HERE
Adverbs of degree
The attention is focused on what follows e.g. I am SO annoyed
Exclusive adverbs
Focus attention on what follows them to the exclusion of other possibilities e.g. You ONLY care about yourself
Additive adverbs
Adds two or more items together e.g. I do too
