-The way in which a place is perceived by society/ individuals- can be positive and negative, due to the way that agents of change PORTRAY IT

  • Place Marketing= how a place is “sold” by corporate bodies, mainly or tourism
    eg: Marketing of the Lake District as the Adventure Capital of the UK by Cumbria Tourism in 2017

-Re-branding= changing negative perceptions regarding a place
“People make Glasgow” -“crowdsourcing” social media campaign involving 42 countries

-Re-imagining= a new identity, away from negative perceptions
LIVERPOOL became reimagined through the Tate and Merseyside Redevelopment Corporation= “There’s life in the Old Docks Yet”
