What hematologic features are required to diagnose MDS?

A
  1. Persistent cytopenia(s) with one or more cell lines that are below normal for 4 months without other causes
  2. Myeloblasts with bone marrow blasts 5-19% or on peripheral smear 2-19%
  3. MDS-defining cytogenetic/molecular features or dysplasia (>10% in one or more hematopoietic lineages) or ringed sideroblasts >15% (or >5% in the presence of SF3B1)

A
  1. Mutated SF3B1 (>10% VAF)
  2. del(5q) with up to 1 additional cytogenetic abnormality (except 7/del (7q).
