A 32 years old male has been referred by a surgeon, requesting you to
exclude psychiatric pathology. The individual was hospitalized at
rawalpindi three days ago in the evening with history of acute pain in the
night lower abdomen for 01 day. He further stated that he was kidnapped a
week ago by unknown assailants from outside of his home at Lahore. He
accused his assailants of beating him up during which he sustained blunt
injury to his abdomen. Personal history revealed that he left his previous
job as a lab assistant, receptionist and then recently started to work as a
medical representative three months ago
a) What would you look for on examination?
b) What further information would you be interested in the past history in
relation to this disorder?
c) What would be a psychiatrist’s response in such a case?
