what is an absolute value?
the amount in the number no matter what the sign (positive or negative) is.
what is a coefficient?
coefficient is the number you multiply an unknown by
what is a consecutive number?
numbers that come one right after the other
what is a constant?
the part of a math problem without any unknowns
what is constant of proportionally?
scale factor, the way that your input becomes your output.
what is e?
Another way of writing 10 to the power of x
what is equation?
a math problem with two portions set equal to eachother
what is exponent?
the number of times you multiply a number by itself.
what is expression?
any set of numbers, variables, or combination of both without being set equal to anything else. Expressions are often just pieces of an equation.
what is function?
an equation that shows the relationship between two variables.
what is inequality?
an equation that shows that the two pieces are not equal to each other, but are greater or less than each other.
what are integers?
whole numbers + negatives
what is interval?
the range of numbers between two set values
what are irrational numbers?
decimals that go on forever without a repeating pattern.
