DEFINED as the no. of maternal death per 100,000 live births for the same period
MATERNAL MORTALITY RATE
it is applied to deaths occurring during the neonatal period, commencing at birth and ending 28 completed days after birth.
NEONATAL MORTALITY RATE
¡ IMR is defined as the ratio of infant deaths registered in a given year to the total number of live births registered in the same year.
¡ It is expressed as a rate per thousand live births.
INFANT MORTALITY RATE
Death of children between birth and exactly 5 years of age, expressed per 1,000 live births.
