A protocol that has increased performance instead of SATA.
The difference between HDD and SSD?
HDDs have moving parts storing data on platters using magnatism.
SSDs have no moving parts and stores data on flash chips.
SSD is faster.
How is data stored on devices in their smallest size?
Blocks and pages.
what are the 2 most common SSD formats?
2.5” and M.2
What type of cable and connectors do PATA use?
Ribbon.
What is SCSI?
Small Computer System Interface.
prenounced “scuzy”
A no longer used protocol and connector that allowed storage similar to SATA.
What is SAS?
Serial Attached SCSI (“scuzy”)
Successor of SCSI.
What is iSCSI?
Internet enabled SCSI protocol and standards for servers.
Which are the 2 SCSI standards still used today?
SAS and iSCSI
What media/drives can be booted from?
HDD, SSD, M.2, optical or thumb drives.
