What are the Triage colours of priority?
A
- CAT 1-Red – Top priority - those patients requiring immediate care
- CAT2 -Yellow – Second priority – Pt will survive a delay in treatment
- CAT3 -Green – third priority – walking wounded
- Black – DEAD

What is the primary role of the transport officer?
A
- Support the triage officer in management of the scene.
o Pt management if directed
o Co-ordinate transport vehicles to ensure appropriate transport
o Create – Ambulance loading/holding point
o Maintain casualty movement log
o Ensure appropriate access and egress

How do the paediatric assessment tools work?
A
- CAT3 -Green – third priority – Alert and moving all limbs or walking
- If not Cat3/Green – lay tape flat next to the child to gauge their length to determine which physiological values to compare the child against.
- CAT 1-Red – Top priority – If trapped, infants under 50cm
o If Pt age known, calculate weight rather than using tape.
