  • The Act of preservation of the queens safety meant they should find her guilty.
  • Walsigham’s evidence was enough for Mary to be found guilty, babington plot etc.
  • It was clear that Spain wanted to attack England, it was rumoured Spanish troops had landed in Wales, making Mary even more of a threat.
