The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) ?

Sets out general duties which Employers have towards Employees/members of the public.
* Duties qualified ‘so far as is reasonably practicable
* Main requirement is to carry out risk assessments
* Some regulations apply to all companies i.e. Manual handling

What are the Client’s duties under CDM?

* Ensure adequate welfare is in place before works start on site
* Ensure dutyholders are appointed
* If they don’t appoint a PD then they become the PD by default (commercial clients only)
* Note, a domestic client is someone who has work carried out to their property for their own non-commercial benefit
* Sufficient time/ resources are allowed in the planning of H&S on site

* Contribute towards eliminating, reduce or control foreseeable risks
* Provide information to other dutyholders as required
