- differentiation - split into functions & divisions, apparent differences
- task relationships - tasks are interrelated, affect each other
- scarcity of resources - competition, scarce resources

A
- latent conflict - no actual conflict, potential
- perceived conflict - aware that goals are being thwarted, conflict escalates
- felt conflict - negative feelings, cooperation declines
- manifest conflict - decide how to deal/react, hostility
- conflict aftermath - affects way both parties perceive & respond to future episodes

- compromise - bargaining & negotiation
- collaboration - satisfy own goals & goals of other side, work together
- accomodation - allow other party to acheive their goals
- avoidance - refuse to acknowledge source of problem, acti as if there were no problem
- competition - each party looks out for own interest
