Define the Autocratic Management style
The manager makes the decisions and tells the employees what tasks to perform.

The manager makes decisions and then sells the decision to employees.

Best when the task lacks complexity or simple,
Define the consultative management style
The manager seeks the ideas and opinions of employees before they make a final decision.

- larger pool of ideas.
- More motivated employees as involved.
DIS:
- More time consuming.
- Employees may not want to be consulted.
When is the consultative management style best?
When the nature of the tasks are more complex, when time is available, when employee experience is higher and when the manager prefers to involve the employees on the process.
Define the participative management style
Manager communicating and discussing information with employees in order to made decisions together.

ADV:
- Employees feel valued.
- Improved moral/motivation.
DIS:
- Can be time consuming.
- Conflict potentially between employees over disagreements.

When is participative management style best?
When the nature of the tasks are complex, lots of time available/required, employees have a high level of experience and knowledge and manager prefers to collaborate with employees.
Define the lassez-faire management style
The manager leaves the majority of the decision-making and authority with the employees.

When is Laisser-faire faire management style best?
Extended time is available, or when staff need to be delegated. Highly experienced employees are required that can be trusted and take control. Tasks are simple or complex. Low desire for manager to control
