Patellofemoral Pain
What is the management plan for Patellofemoral Pain?
Reduce pain and correct faulty biomechanics
What is the length of the acute injury phase for patellofemoral pain? What is done here?
1 to 4 days
Use ice and electrical stimulation to decrease pain, take NSAIDs as needed. Use tapejobs to fix it and an orthotic insert/isometric exercises
What is the length of the repair phase for patellofemoral pain? What is done here?
5 days to 2 weeks
Use ice and electrical stimulation, more tape, day to day assessments
What is the length of the remodeling phase for patellofemoral pain? What is done here?
2 weeks to full return
Wean off of taping
Possibly wear a neoprene sleeve
More quad strengthening nad hamstring stretching exercises
What is moderate pain on the outside of the left ankle, walking is difficult, painful to move, and tenderness symptoms of?
Grade 2 Inversion Ankle Sprain

2-3 days
Ice intermittently.
Determine that there is no fracture
Elastic wrap during waking and elevate

Ice after exercise, cold whirlpool, and massage above and below the injury site

Stretrch and light resistance training
