Ensuring tasks and activities run in a timely and effective manner to ensure smooth operations
Coordinating
Having the right people in the right place, with the right skill, at the right time
Controlling
Ensuring that all of the activities going on in the organization are aimed at meeting the organization’s goals
Monitoring
Involves systematically checking on progress or performance and reviewing plans to ensure deadlines and objectives are met
Delegating
Giving a team member the responsibility to carry out a task or make a decision that a more senior person would have carried out.
Advantages of Delegation
Reduces management stress and workload.
Allows senior management to focus on crucial tasks.
Disadvantages of Delegation
May increase the workload and stress of subordinates.
Depends on the quality/experience of subordinates.
