What are 2 drawbacks of a democratic leadership style?

- Consultation with staff can be time consuming
- On occasions, quick decision making will be required.
- Level of involvement as some issues may be too sensitive to include staff.
What are 3 main features of a paternalistic leadership style?
- Managers do what they think is best.
- Some consultation may take place however the final decision is taken by the manager.
- Managers want workers to be happy in their jobs.
What is the drawback of a paternalistic leadership style?
Some workers will feel dissatisfied with the apparent attempts to consult, while not having any real power or influence.
What are 2 main features of a laissez-faire leadership style?
- Managers delegate virtually all authority and decision making powers.
- Very broad criteria or limits might be established for the staff to work within
