The lack of a balanced diet can lead to malnutrition.
What is starvation and what problems can it cause?
Starvation is caused by eating too little food. leading to weight loss, organ damage, muscle atrophy and eventually death.
What is obesity and what problems can it cause?
Obesity is caused by eating too much food, leads to a range of health issues, including diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke and even heart diseases.
How is constipation caused and what problems does it cause?
Constipation is caused by a lack of fiber, leading to pain, stomach ache and inability to defecate.
How and why is scurvy caused?
Scurvy is caused by a lack of vitamin C, leads to bleeding under the skin around the gums, premature stopping of bone growth in children and leading to stunt growth, very dry skin and hair.
What and how is coronary heart diseases caused?
Coronary heart diseases is caused by the build of cholesterol in the coronary artery which limits blood flow to the heart and can cause heart attacks. Cholesterol is a result of too much saturated fats in the diet, which comes from foods such as high fat dairy products and fatty meats.
