Skin
dartos fascia (colles fascia)
external spermatic fascia (external oblique apernorosis)
cremaster muscle and fascia (internal oblique muscle)
internal spermatic fascia (transversalis fascia)
Tunica vaginalis (process vaginalis) - from visceral and parietal peritoneum
Tunica albigenis
What is the scrotum?
Continuous sac consisting of 2 layers- skin and dartos fascia
what is the scrotum divided internally by?
Divided internally by the septum of the scrotum into right and left compartments
What is the scrotum divided externally by?
Divided externally by the scrotal raphe (marks the fusion line of the labioscrotal swellings)
What s dartos fascia?
Layer of smooth muscle fibers responsible for the wrinkled appearance of the scrotum
what part of darts fascia has no fat?
Superior dartos
What is darts fascia continuous with anteriorly?
Scarpa’s fascia
What is darts fascia continuous with posteriorly?
Colles’ fascia
Where does the darts muscle attach?
to skin
Causes the scrotum to contract and bring testis closer to abdominal cavity to keep warm and sperm alive
What is the artery supply of the scrotum?
Posterior scrotal arteries
Anterior scrotal arteries
Cremasteric branch of inferior epigastric artery
What are the veins of the scrotum?
Posterior scrotal veins
Anterior scrotal veins
