Q

Cells of the epididymis

A
  • The seminiferous tubules are lined with Sertoli cells which aid the maturation of the spermatozoa
  • The seminiferous tubules are supported by intersistial tissue which is lined with LEYDIG Cells which are responsible for producing Testosterone
  • Spermatozoa are produced in the seminiferous tubules. The developing sperm travels through the tubules, collecting in the rete testes.
  • Ducts known as efferent tubules transport the sperm from the rete testes to the epididymis for storage and maturation.
