Malaria
Parasitic disease caused by Plasmodium genus and is transported by female anopheles mosquito

Progression
Malaria parasites multiply in the liver after travelling through the bloodstream. Remain there for several months before entering the blood stream and multiplying in our red blood cells. Red blood cells burst during multiplication of parasites and can lead to anaemia or even brain damage
Symptoms
- fever
- shivering
- headache
- vomiting
- joint pain
- convulsions
Treatment
Anti-malarial drugs such as Quinine or Artemisinin are used
Inner walls of houses is sprayed with insecticides (DDT is the most effective but not often used as it is toxic to humans and environment)
Best solution is mosquito nets treated with insecticides as they are safe and affordable
