When people consciously or unconsciously copy people in those roles

General beliefs about right & wrong
Norms
Social rules which define acceptable and correct behaviour in society or social group which people are expected to conform to
Customs
Norms which have lasted for a long time and become a tradition
Social control
Methods used to influence people to follow the dominant values and norms of society; could be enforced formally or informally
Deviance
Failure to conform to social norms & values
