Q

Define magnets

A

They are a type of non-contact force, magnetic material don’t need to be in contact with a magnet to exert a force on eachother.

Q

What 4 rules do magnetic fields need to have.

A

1- The lines never cross
2- North to South
3- The closer the lines are to each other, the stronger the force is.

16
Q

How do magnets interact with each other.

A

The two poles on the magnet are north pole and south pole. When two poles are the sam, they repel. WHen 2 poles are different, they attract. Magnets are a type of non-contact force, meaning the magnetic material doesn’t need to touch the magnet in order for their to be a magnetic field

17
Q

How can magnetic field lines be represented

A

The magnetic field lines can be represented by drawing field lines with the help of a compass or use an iron filling.

18
Q

The line closer to the magnet are more …..

A

concentrated

19
Q

The field line have ….. on the

A

arrows

20
Q

Direction of magnetic force is from …..

A

north to south

21
Q

What happens when similar poles are put together?

A

repel

22
Q

What happens when opposite poles are put together?

A

attract

23
Q

Where is the magnetic field strongest?

A

Near the pole

24
Q

*Why is magnetism like gravity?

A

Non-contact
