- Infant weight greater than 90th percentile for GA
- OR birth weight over 4000g

A
- Maternal obesity
- Gestational DM
- Past hx of macrosomic infant
- Prolonged gestation
- Multiparity

When is it reasonable to do a prophylactic C/S for macrosomia in
1) Non diabetic
2) Diabetic

1) Estimated fetal weight > 5000g
2) Estimated fetal weight > 4500g

When would you induce a patient with gestational diabetes? What changes the dates?
A
1) Managed by diet and lifestyle - 40 weeks consider, 41 weeks recommended
2) Managed with Oral medication or Insulin - 39 weeks
