  1. Conduct needs assessment (using surveys, focus groups, interviews)
  2. Create planning team (agency specific - e.g. therapist/clinical team) and/or task force (addressing larger community issues - e.g. homelessness)
  3. Define goals/objectives of program based on results of needs assessment
  4. Develop action plan/timeline for program implementation (Literature review - be up to date on current research/best practices to inform program development)
  5. Implement action plan

Program Evaluation Steps

A
  1. Look at goals/objectives in order to measure success of program
  2. Describe characteristics of program (e.g. clients served, interventions/practice techniques - helps understand how services are delivered)
  3. Engage in process evaluation (how services are being carried out)
  4. Identify tools necessary to measure progress toward goals
  5. Use measures (surveys, interviews, therapist track outcome measure for reduction in symptoms)
  6. Share evaluation with appropriate parties aimed at improving program

Community Organizing

  1. Integrate into community (develop relationships with people in the community, build trust, strength-based, stakeholders)
  2. Identify issues impacting community (through relationships built)
  3. Identifying individuals and create core group (work with community members, provide training and process in which you address issues)
