Q

Analyse the quotation - “O _______, ______, _______” (its the same word repeated)

A

Horror, horror, horror

The repetition of horror shows his reaction of speechless and what he has seen is beyond understanding and words themselves. This is implied to be a very genuine reaction, with no manipulative intent like Macbeth, the fact his reaction is so genuine indicates he had real friendship with Duncan and is distraught to see him dead. This is comtrasted with the duplicitous and ingenuine reaction of Macbeth, juxtaposing the two feom the very beginning. Macduff, along with Banquo are both antitheses of Macbeth.

Destroy, gorgon
