Question 1

Aim to perform first hand investigation in order to draw longitudonal and transverse section of xylem and phloem

Answer 1

1. Add 3 drops food dye to beaker with water
2. Place stick of celery and leave over night
3. Using scalpel thinly slice transverse (across stalk) sections and down the end of the stalk (longitduonal sections)
4. Dip each slice in water and place on slide to create a wet mount
5. observe each slide under microscope
6. record results by 2 labelled diagrams
