There are essentially fixed-sized character with the same style
Plain Text
Text appearance varies using various typefaces, colors, and font sizes
Formatted Text
Is a kind of specially-formatted text that provides a link to other content
Hypertext
Is a design of letters, numbers and other symbols, to be used in printing or for electronic display
Typeface
Are the oldest, most basic fonts in the book; classical type of font that can be used in variety of different ways and will likely never go out of style
Serif Type Styles
The curved strokes are inclined to the left, placing wright stress at around 8:00 and 2:00 o’clock
Old Style
Combines old style and neoclassical designs
Transitional Serif
Characterized by abrupt contrast between thin and thick strokes
Neoclassical & Modern Serifs
They have less line width variation than serif fonts
San Serif Typeface
It has contrast in stroke weight, slightly squared curves, and a roman style lowercase “g” with a bowl and loop
Grotesque Sans Serif
They are considered highly legible and readable by typographic experts
Humanistic San Serif
Are constructed using simple geometric shapes with strict, monoline strokes
Geometric Sans Serif
These elegant typefaces are often used in diplomas and invitations
Script Tyle Styles
Are derived from 17th century formal writing styles’ many characters have strokes that join them to other letters
Formal Script
These scripts mmic calligraphic writing; Written with a flat-tipped writing instrument
Calligraphic Scripts
These types are also known as texture, gothic script or gothic minuscule
Blackletter & Lombardic Scripts
This family has a less formal and more active hand
Casual Scripts
This is the largest and most diverse type classification; used for signage, headlines, and all other display projects requiring a strong typographic statement
Decorative Styles
They have a bold, chunky look that is delicate at the same time
Inline
They are based on the slang term ‘grungy,’ meaning dirty or filthy.
Grunge
They are made up of capital letters with curved edges and thick strokes with splits
Stencil
It tells the name of a text
Title
It tells about a picture
Caption
It tells what part of a text will be about
Heading
It gives the name of something
Label
It tells what page things are on
Table of Contents
It tells about a picture
Bold Word
It shows how something looks

It tells where things are

It describes the position of the text on a page in accordance to the margin or other text elements
Alignment
Concerned with the uniformity and consistency of the design
Repetition
Happens when two or more different elements are placed together to create a certain effect
Contrast
What are the two types of messages?
(1) Explicit and (2) Implicit
