Purposes of sex analysis
- Having children is a strong reason. This is because you will get something good that you wanted out of it and start a family
- For money is a weak reason. This is because people can exploit you and make feel like you have to do what they want
- Peer Pressure is a weak reason. This is because you don’t have free choice and haven’t fully agreed to participate
- To try something new is a strong reason. This is because you may feel enjoyment and feel happy you tried it.
Christian views on sexual relationships
- “You have heard that it was said … thou shalt not commit adultery” Matthew 5:27
This tells us you shouldn’t cheat
They are against cheating but not sex - “He who sins sexually against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple whom you have received from God” Corinthians 6:18
This tells us if you have sex you are misusing your body and sinning
They are against sexual relationships, they belief it’s not what bodies are meant for - “If they cannot control themselves, they should marry for it is better to marry, then burn with passion” Corinthians 7:9
This tells us if you want to have sex, marry
They are for sex if you are married and have a spouse
Judaism views on sexual relationships
-“May you rejoice in the wife of your youth. May her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be intoxicated by her love” - proverbs 5:15-19
-“It is Gods will that you should avoid (sex forever) ; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honourable, not in passionate lust like those who do not know God” - Thessalonians 4:3-5
Humanism response to sexual relationship
- Many humanists believe that sex is meant for pleasure and can be enjoyed as long as you are aware of the consequences and risks and physically and mentally mature to make the decision
- We should not rush into sex until we feel as though we are ready
Utilitarian view on sexual relationships
- Make sure that majority of people are happy in what’s happening
- They try to avoid harming others so you should consider consequences including unwanted pregnancies and STI’s
Reasons for a same sex relationship
1) It’s no on else’s business
2) You can’t choose not to be gay
3) You shouldn’t control other peoples decisions
Against same sex relationships
1) God created opposite genders to be together not two females nor two males in the bible
2) They shouldn’t happen as you can’t physically conceive children together
3) A child should have both mother and father influences
Moral issues with same sex relationships
- Should children have both a mother and father
- Is the main purpose of a relationship to reproduce
- Scriptures can make it forbidden for people to act upon their feelings
- Will raising children with two mums or two dads make them homosexual
Christian view on same sex relationships
“…Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor adulters, nor (unmanly men), nor theives, nor drunkards, nor men who practice homosexuality will (get into heaven)” - Bible corinthians 6:9

“Kill the one that is doing it (same sex) and also kill the one it is being done to” - the Hadith

Judaism view on same sex relationships
“Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind: because it is an abomination” - Bible and torah Leviticus 18:22

Humanist view on same sex relationships
Humanists agree with same sex relationships as long as the two people are consenting and they are not hurting anyone else
Utilitarian view on same sex relationships
Utilitarians agree with same sex relationships as long as it is creating the greatest Happiness for the greatest number.
