what are the features of the ann arbour staging ?
stages 1 all the way to stage 4
A and B symptoms
A - the absence of B
B - night sweats, weight loss and fever
what are the features of stages 1 to 4 in ann arbour ?
stage 1 - single lymph node region
stage 2 - more than 2 lymphoid regions on the same side of the diaphragm
stage 3 - lymph nodes on both sides of the diaphragm
stage 4 - dissemination to one or more extra nodal tissues or organs
what conditions are highly associated with non hodgkin lymphoma ?
in particular infections :
h.pylori
EBV
Hep C
HTLV-I
what age group is affected in HL vs NHL ?
HL - affects younger people
NHL - affects people over 60
what are the clinical features of NHL ?
symmetrical lymphadenopathy
B symptoms ( more prominent here)
oropharyngeal involvement
gut and skin involvement
what chemotherapy is used for non hodgkin lymphoma ?
R-CHOP
what chemotherapy is used for hodgkin’s lymphoma ?
ABVD
what chemotherapy is used for follicular non hodgkin lymphoma ?
R-CVP
what are the clinical features of hodgkin’s lymphoma ?
1- alcohol induced lymphadenopathy is a suggestive symptom
2- B symptoms
3- Pruritis
