Lung Mù
Alarm Mù Point
Intersection with Spleen (Tài Yīn Crossing)
Name: This point represents Intersection Spleen-Stomach to Lung. All Qi comes from it first like a countries money comes from the treasury.
Location: 1 cun inferior and slightly lateral to LU-2 just medial to the coracoid process of scapula in the pectoralis major muscle, deeper the insertion of the pectoralis minor.
Zhōng Fǔ
Areas: Chest. Lungs. Nose. Shoulder.
Functions: Benefits Respiration. Regulates Chest Qi. Dispels stagnation and heat. Releases the exterior. Tonifies Lung Qi.
LU 5
Chǐ: Cubit, a Chinese measurement (about a foot)
Zé: Marsh, Dregs
Cubit Marsh
Ghost Endurance
Ghost Hall
Water Point
Sedation
Sea-Hé Uniting
Name: Located one “cubit” away from the pulse in the hand. Its is a Marsh because it is a water point.
Location: In cubital crease, in the depression on the radial side of the tendon of the biceps brachii and medial to the brachioradialis muscle.
Chǐ Zé
Areas: Lungs. Chest> Elbow. Upper Jiao.
Functions: Dispels Phlegm. Opens the Water Passages. Alleviates Cough. Clears the Lungs.
LU 6
Kǒng - Hole, Aperture
Zuì - Collection, To Gather, adj. “most” “-est”.
Collection Hole
Xī - Cleft/Hsi Pt.
Name: represents depression location and how it helps the throat as the throat is a hole.
Location: 5 cun distal from LU-5, 7 proximal from LU-9. On brachioradialis muscle where it meets the pronator teres and flexor pollicis longus in a fissure like depression.
Kǒng Zuì
Areas: Nose. Lungs.Skin. Forearm.
Functions: Releases the exterior. Diaphoretic. Clears heat from the Upper Jiao. Arrests Bleeding.
LU 7
Liè: sequence, to arrange, to place
Quē: imperfect, incomplete, deficient, vacant
Broken Sequence
Child Mystery
Wrist Taxation
Interrupted Sequence, Thunder and Lightning,
Lòu - Network Pt. (linking to LI-4)
Opening (Master) point of the Ren Mai
Command point of the head and neck
Heavenly Star Point
Name: refers to how Lung Qi branches off to LI-4 at this point. Shaped like thunder and lighting, breaking the sequence of Lung Qi.
Location: at base of styloid process of radius. in “V” shaped crevice between brachioradialis and abductor pollicis longus tendons.
Liè Quē
Areas: Head. Face. Back of Neck. Nose. Throat. Lungs. Chest. Bladder. Forearms.
Functions: Descends and disperses Lung Qi. Releases the Exterior. Opens the Ren Mai. Nourishes Yīn and Moistens Fluids. Benefits the Neck.
LU 8
Jīng: Channel, River, Warp (as in warp and woof in weaving) Qú: Ditch, Gutter, Canal Channels Ditch, River Gutter Metal Pt. Horary Pt. Jīng - River Name: Like a river because qi moves through this point as it is a Jīng - River point. In a ditch like depression between radius and flexor carpi radialis tendon. Gutters are made of metal. Location: On the medial margin of the radius, in the depression about 1 cun above the transverse wrist crease, level with high point of radial styloid process, on radial side of radial artery. Jīng Qú Areas: Lungs. Upper Jiao. Functions: Tonifies Lung Qi.
LU 9
Tài: great, very
Yuān: abyss, deep source of water
Great Abyss
Ghost Heart
Great Spring
Great Source
Earth Pt. (Influential Pt for Vessels) Tonification
Shū - Stream
Yuán - Source
Gathering/Meeting Huì Point for the Vessels.
Name: It is a deep abyss of Qi as it is a Yuan Source point for lung channel. Deep with Qi as an abyss.
Location: On transverse wrist crease, in the depression on the radial side of the radial artery. Lateral to the tendon of the abductor pollicis longus.
Tài Yuān
Areas: Chest. Lungs. Blood Vessels.
Functions: Tonifies Chest Qi. Strengthens the Breath and the Voice. Nourishes Lung Yin. Transforms Phlegm. Benefits the Vessels and Improves Circulation.
LU 10
Yú: Fish
Jì: Border
Fish Border
Fire Pt.
Yíng - Spring
Name: Location looks like a fish belly, where the white and red skin meet, at it’s border.
Location: On the thenar surface, 1/2 way along the first metacarpal bone, at the junction of the skin of the palmar and dorsal surfaces.
Yú Jì
Areas: Lungs. Throat. Thumb.
Functions: Clears exterior heat and phlegm and fire toxins. Benefits the throat.
LU 11
Shào: Few, Little
Shāng: 5th (Metal) sound in the Chinese musical scale, merchant, trader.
Lesser Metal (Shāng)
Little Merchant
Ghost Sincerity
Wood Pt.
Jǐng - Well, Tsing,
2nd Ghost Point
Name: Lesser because Qi is a mere trickle, Shāng because it is the Metal channel.
Location: 0.1 cun proximal to the corner of thumb nail.
Shào Shāng
Areas: Throat. Lung Channel. Mind.
Functions: Dispels Exterior Heat and Wind. Restores Consciousness.
Location: 1 cun inferior and slightly lateral to LU-2 just medial to the coracoid process of scapula in the pectoralis major muscle, deeper the insertion of the pectoralis minor.
