Q

Test-Retest Reliability

A

Where the same group of people are asked to undertake the research measure again. However, researchers should be aware of demand characteristics. There shouldn’t be too much time between the data thing because views might change. The scores from both tests will be correlated and as long as it’s above +0.8 then it’s calm.

Q

Inter-Observer Reliability

A

The extent to which 2 or more observers are observing and recording behaviour in a consistent way. This helps prevent subjectivity being a problem. THey’ll observe the same situation/event separately and then correlate their observations.

Q

Improving Questionnaire Reliability

A

You could identify the questions that are having the biggest impact upon reliability and adjust them, or maybe rewrite them to reduce potential for misinterpretation.

Q

Improving Interview Reliability

A

The same interviewer should conduct all interviews to reduce researcher bias, change how questions are asked, Provide training to limit leading questions. Change it from unstructured to a structured interview to limit researcher bias.
