INNERVATION: Deep peroneal nerve (L4,5)
Tibialis Ant
ORIGIN:Upper lateral tibia, interosseous membrane
INSERTION: Junction of the 1st ray
INNERVATION: Deep peroneal nerve (L4,5)
Extensor Digitorum Longus
ORIGIN: Lateral tibial condyle, Upper ¾ of anterior fibula, interosseous membrane
INSERTION: Toes 2-5 (one central and two lateral slips)
INNERVATION: Deep peroneal nerve (L4,5)
Peroneus Tertius
ORIGIN: Anterior lateral fibula
INSERTION: Dorsal base of 5th metatarsal
INNERVATION: Deep peroneal nerve (L4,5)
Peroneus Longus
ORIGIN: Head and upper fibula
INSERTION: Plantar junction of the 1st ray
INNERVATION: Superficial Peroneal nerve (L5S1-2)
Peroneus Brevis
ORIGIN: Lower 2/3 of fibula
INSERTION: Tuberosity of base of 5th metatarsal
INNERVATION: Superficial Peroneal nerve (L5S1-2)
Gastrocnemius
ORIGIN: Medial head: posterior femoral condyle Lateral head: lateral posterior femoral condyle
INSERTION: Achilles tendon
INNERVATION: Tibial nerve (S1-2)
Soleus
ORIGIN: Posterior head and shaft of the fibula, posterior tibia below soleal line
INSERTION: Achilles tendon
INNERVATION: Tibial nerve (S1-2)
Plantaris
ORIGIN: Lateral supracondylar line of femur
INSERTION: Achilles tendon
INNERVATION: Tibial nerve (S1-2)
Tibialis Posterior
ORIGIN: Upper ½ of fibula, interosseous membrane
INSERTION: All tarsals except talus, bases of metatarsals 2-4
INNERVATION: Tibial nerve (L4-5)
Flexor Digitorum Longus
ORIGIN: Middle 1/3 of tibia
INSERTION: Base of distal phalanx for toes 2-5
INNERVATION: Tibial nerve (L4-5)
Flexor Hallicus Longus
ORIGIN: Lower 2/3 of fibula, interosseous membrane
INSERTION: Base of distal phalanx of hallux
INNERVATION: Tibial nerve (L4-5)
Extensor Digitorum Brevis
ORIGIN: Floor of the calcaneus
INSERTION: Hallux and toes 2-4 through the extensor digitorum longus tendon
INNERVATION: Deep Peroneal nerve (L5S1)
