What does the lower appendage consist of?
Upper leg, knee, lower leg, and foot
Upper leg
Single bone, femur, joins with the lower leg bones at knee, femur is longest and strongest bone in body, can be deadly, fractures and dislocations
Knee
Hinge joint, upper and lower leg meet, knee cap (patella), sits in front of the joint for protection and a point of attachment for your leg muscles
Lower leg
Tibia and Fibula, joins with lower leg bones at knee

Thicker, frontal lower leg bone, (shin bone/medial ankle bump)
Fibula
Thinner, lateral lower leg bone, (lateral ankle bump)

Foot
Made of tarsals, metatarsals, and phalanges
