Pathogenesis

A
  1. Toxin Production*-infecting intestinal, enteral toxins-secrete water and electrolytes from intestinal cells. *cytoxins-cause cell death absorbed in bloodstream, causing systemic effects.
    2.Alterations in intestinal epithelial cells. Type 3 secretion systems to deliver effector proteins to cells.
    3.A/E-bacteria cells inject protein to rearrange actin filaments resulting in replacement if micro villi.
    Cell invasion-bacterium is engulfed and multiplied within host cell
