Mechanism of action?
A
Inhibit reA from ascending loop of henle

Indication?
A
HF and pulmonary oedema (due to lvf) and resistant oedema

Onset of action and duration of action?
A
Act within 1 hour, can be given twice daily - does not interfere with sleep

Examples?
A
Furosemide and bumetanide

Can exacerbate which conditions?
A
Gout and diabetes

Contraindications?
A
Renal failure, hypok/nat and liver cirrhosis

A
Rapid high doses or (IV) can cause tinnitus and deafness (ototoxicity) do not give with genta
