A
- Inhibit Na+/ K+/ 2CL- co-trasn system in ALH
- Reduce reabsorption of NaCL
- Causes increase in magnesium, calcium & potassium excretion
- Descending Loop permeable to water

Adverse Effects
A
- Hypokalemia
- Hyperuricemia
- Hypomagnesium
- Severe dehydration
- Hyponatremia
- Hypocalcemia
- Allergic reactions (rash, eosinophilia, nephritis)

- Acute pulminary edema
- hypercalcemia
- hyperkalemia
- Acute renal failure
- Cognitive Heart failure
