The Curtefranca DOC was created in 1995 as Terre di Franciacorta DOC. In 2008 the name was changed to Curtefranca DOC. This is the DOC that covers the still wines made within the area of the Franciacorta DOCG.
Curtefranca DOC Rosso varieties
Min. 25% Merlot
Min. 20% Cabernet Franc and/or Carmenère
10-35% Cabernet Sauvignon
Max. 15% other red grapes suitable for production in Lombardia

Min. 50% Chardonnay
Max. 50% combined Pinot Nero and/or Pinot Bianco
Curtefranca DOC Bianco Aging Requirements?
Bianco: Wines may be released February 1 of the year after harvest.
Bianco with indication of single vineyard: Wines must be aged min. 3 months in bottle, and may be released September 1 of the year after harvest.

Rosso: Wines may be released July 1 of the year after harvest.
Rosso with indication of single vineyard: Wines must be aged min. 8 months in wood with an additional min. 6 months in bottle, and may be released on September 1 of the second year of harvest.
