4- offering training, mentoring and monitoring for best practise
explaining discriminatory practise:
explain stereotyping, labelling and prejudice
inadequate car example?
abuse and neglect?
breach of health and safety?
- jumping to conclusions about someone, assuming they’re going to behave a certain way when it isn’t a known fact what they will be or be like
- not administrating medication on time or not consulting a patient on their treatment plan or their preferences.
- hitting some one or calling them names
- forgetting to lock a cabinet of drugs or a lack of supervision in a primary school
methods of challenging discrimination:
list the 3 methods and explain
- challenging it at the time = speak to the individual and raise awareness that what there doing is wrong and wont be tolerated
- challenging it after via procedures = show the relevant polices that star any form of discrimination wont be accepted and will be punished. discussion at senior level should take place where the issue is eradicated and disciplinary action can take place
- challenge through long term procedure campaigning= sessions can be ran about the values of care, a equality and diversity course can be arranged for those who don’t comply to highlight the importance of treating ppl with respect.
