Describe the 3 phases of liver detoxification.
A
1 - OXIDATIVE. Produces more active metabolites, relies on microtonal enzymes - cytochrome P450
2 - CONJUGATION. Make drug more soluble in water (allows excretion), occurs in cytoplasm.
3 - ELIMINATION. Reduce active drug in circulation, ATPase pumps/bile to remove.
