Key motifs in little red rooster
● Rooster strut - male dancer begins stage right facing stage left. He takes a large lung step onto the right leg, dragging his left leg behind. His body posture is upright but slightly tilted forward. His arms are at right angles to his body and wrists are limp. His head jerks forward with each step.
● Grooming gestures- male dancer is centre front of the stage. He steps aggressively into a wide second position and turns his head to face stage left. With his hands he adjusts his tie and juts his head sharply twice to the beat of the music
● Flapping wings - the male dancer stood slightly left of centre. He is holding his lapels with his hands, elbows tucked into his body. He rotates his shoulders and arms in a circle coordinating this with the circular flick of his right leg. He then steps onto his right leg and jumps , moving his legs in a scissor action with them bent. His hands are still holding onto his lapels.
