A

- inform assigned nurse of new admission
- start patient chart
- see if bed is clean
- greet patient
- addressograph and complete patient chart with admitting info and documents
- place name labels in appropriate places
- give RN nursing assessment/history
- complete kardex
- place old chart in designated area
- transcribe all physician’s orders received
- when orders complete flag chart for RN check
- check if patient has: ARO, DNA, AVB, contact precautions, preferred accommodation
