Benefits of paraphrasing

A

-Allows you to ensure the speakers message was received as intended
-it draws out more information from the speaker - is that what you mean
-reduces the heat out of intense discussions

Difference between empathy and sympathy

A

Empathy - experiencing the others perception (temporarily become the person)

Sympathy - having compassion for another persons circumstances but from your own point of view
