A figure of speech that emphasizes its subject by conscious understatement.

Loose sentence

Lyric
Originally designated poems meant to be sung to accompaniment of a lyre; now any short poem in which the speaker express is intense personal emotion rather than describing a narrative or dramatic situation.
Meter
The more or less regular pattern of stressed and unstressed syllable’s in a lot of poetry. This is determined by the kind of “foot” (Iambic or dactylic, for example) and by the number of feet per line (5 feet = Pentameter, 6 feet = Hexameter, for example).
