Metonymy
From Greek “changed label”, a figure of speech in which one name is chaged to another that is closely associated with it.
EX: instead of saying “the White House declared” and saying “the President declared” is a metonymy.
Mood
the feeling or atmopshere that a writer creates for the reader.
EX: using diction and imagery to contribute to a mood like the dark night with misty fog that crawled over area with owl noises has a spooky mood.
Motivation
the reason why a character acts, feels, or think in a certain way or driving force behind character.
