In foods of animals (meat, milk and dairy products)
Where are unsaturated fats found?
Seed, nuts and plant oils
Where are monosaturated fats found?
In olive, peanut, canola oils
What is the healthies fat for us?
Monosaturated
What fat in excess can give rise to cardiovascular disease?
Saturated fats
Where is cholesterol found
in liver and egg yolk
What are the products of the breakdown of triglyceride?
Fatty acids and glycerol
What are fatty acids and glycerol transported by?
lymph to the blood and onto tissues
What can the liver convert?
Fatty acids from one form to another
What are essential fatty acids?
fatty acids which must be obtained from our diet
