Line Checks Flashcards
First thing to be done for line check?
Check licenses and medicals vac record
If unsatisfactory performance on the leg, may extend any line check with an additional leg. What if pilot monitoring is observed to be at minimum passing performance?
May at my discretion, give a line check to that individual on a subsequent leg
Use FUSE form for sit B extension.
What if a significant number of minimum passing grades are recorded on a captain line check
LCP may debrief the pilot at the conclusion of the first leg and observe the pilots performance on the next leg
What do new hire pilots get before their OE?
An observation flight on a rotation with a line crew
All OEs conclude with a line check. What do pilots upgrading to captain for the first time at Delta receive during OE?
An observation by FAA during OE

Prepush msg recvd?
Speaker on vol up (10 min prior)
T/O……
Both pilots should confirm position from sign and map.
Thrust application
Half fwd stick
Smok’em……

If PA in use, chime may not be heard.

<3 min cool down degrades Eng life.
Hear talk about Start APU……..
Look for low oil message
Flight control check……
Release stick to see if returns to neutral.
When is the fwd stick pressure extra important?
I use to be a fwd stick skeptic, but then thought about Eng failure at low speed and the extra resistance that may be gained by the fwd stick. Especially with contaminanted rwy, crosswind, light weight and aft cg.
Also is your seat adjusted for full assym braking?!?!?
What is situation a situation b ?
Situation a :normal performance
Situation B: pilot requires a second leg.
For when pilot flying or pilot monitoring, observed to be safe, but with a marginal grade of 2 in any area that lcp determines to be critical, then should continue the observation to ensure the pilots performance meets Delta standards.
Examples:
Pilots flies maneuver, outside of a QP standards, and does not correct back in a timely manner
Procedural error not managed. Deviations from prescribed maneuver tolerance of the qualification standard occur that are not recognized or corrected.
Pilot requires greater than normal reliance on the other crew member to maintain SA or accomplish normal procedures. Lcp feels they can debrief the pilot at the conclusion of the first leg, and then observe changed/improved performance on a subsequent leg. Pilot fails to comply with FAR’s or delta policies and procedures.
