Limiting Factors In Photosynthesis Flashcards
How does light affect rate of photosynthesis?
Light is need for photosynthesis so the more light the faster photosynthesis, until a certain. Beyond this point there is a limiting factor
What is inversely proportional to light intensity?
Distance from lamp, and the inverse square law for this is :
Light intensity xc 1/distance (d) ^2
How does CO2 effect the rate of photosynthesis?
It is needed for photosynthesis, so as CO2 increase photosynthesis increases , until a certain point, at this point CO2 is no longer a limiting factor , temperature limits photosynthesis
How does temperature affect photosynthesis?
If temperature is limiting it’s too low , as enzymes work best for photosynthesis at higher temperatures, but if they get too hot they denature this means no photosynthesis usually happens at at 45° C - greenhouses
