Below what OAT does Cowl Anti-Ice system need to be used on the ground?
- OAT = 10c or below, and;
1a. Visible moisture (in any form) with a visibility less than 1500m
or
2a. Runways, taxiways where surface snow, ice, standing water or slush present.
When does Cowl Anti-Ice need to be operated In-Flight?
TAT = 10c or below
and
Visible Moisture in any form
(except when SAT is -40c or below)
When is the Wing Anti-Ice required to be ON for takeoff?
- OAT is 5c or below, and;
1a. Visible moisture in any form with a visibility less than 1500m
or
2a. Operating on runways where surface snow, standing water or slush is present.
When is Wing Anti-Ice required to be selected on In-Flight?
TAT = 10c or below
and any visible moisture in any form (except when SAT is -40 or below)
Above what altitude is Wing Anti-Ice required to be OFF
above 35,000ft
Above what TAT temperature is Wing Anti-Ice ON prohibited?
above 15c
How is Super-cooled Droplet Icing indicated on the airframe?
Ice accretion on the flight compartment side windows.
When is Engine Ice Shredding required on the ground? and how is this carried out?
OAT 3c or below, and;
Visible moisture in any form is present.
Procedure: Engine Run-Up to 60% N1 at intervals of not more than 30mins. First runup conducted as soon as practical.
How is Engine Ice Shedding conducted In-Flight?
If engine vibrations encountered, with Anti-Ice ON.
Procedure: Momentary Increase in thrust up to CLB thrust.
